Posture and ergonomics

Reduce discomfort, pain and sick days, increase productivity

Overview

Sedentary lifestyles and desk based jobs have become so normal that the term 'sitting disease' has been coined.

The majority of UK workers spend between four to nine hours at their desks per day so it is important to make small changes to our work based set up that will prevent ‘sitting disease’ from creeping in.

You will:

  • Have a clearer understanding of how to set up your personal work-station
  • Be able to identify the "at-risk" areas in your workplace ergonomic posture and position
  • Learn exercises and movements that can easily be done in the work place to minimise the impacts of sitting for long periods of time
